Azgalor Gutted!

Well it’s been quite a while since we’ve posted here hasn’t it? Let’s take a quick moment to catch everyone up with what we’ve been doing.

Besides handling with the holiday craziness that all raiding guilds deal with, we’ve been taking some time to attune a new raider and some of our casual members so they could join us in Mt. Hyjal/BT if we had spots available. We also gave ourselves a nice big holiday break, taking off 3 raid days as a reward for an incredible last half of 2007. It’s hard to think that we started from scratch at the very end of June and come this far, this fast on 3 nights a week (roughly 12 hours of raiding), but that’s how we roll.

Now that we’ve shaken off the holiday weariness, tonight was our opportunity to devote some time on Azgalor, the 4th boss in Hyjal. We had two previous half-assed attempts on him, taking him to 90% and 40% respectively, but came back tonight and made steady progress while tweaking our strategy and took him out on our last pull of the night in true Omen fashion.

As bosses go, he’s not so difficult. I’d describe him as moderately more difficult than Kaz’rogal since he has more than one trick, but his trash is horrific. We easily spent more time learning it than we did him. We know that the 30 minute trash waves before each boss attempt fits in with the lore of Mt. Hyjal, but having to wait at least 45 minutes between boss attempts (run-back, repair, rebuff) makes Omen a bunch of sad pandas. He did cough up our first Tier-6 loot though, so we can’t complain too much. Onto Archimonde!
